A framework that works in all industries
Building a page's organic traffic from scratch
FITIT.dk is a diet and training platform that offers digital plans via its platform. This is offered to paying members via a subscription that costs 39 DKK per month.
When FITIT.dk started SEO with Acends framework, they had 0 visitors and were not indexed on any keywords. The goal here was to increase their organic traffic within their industry. By getting the page to rank on keywords that were directly relevant to diet and training and would lead to conversions of new paying members.
Diet and training is an industry with many (and large) competitors. Therefore, it was about focusing correctly in terms of keywords. This article will go into more detail below.
Starting from scratch requires the right partner.
The case in numbers

From 0 to 1035 in keywords in general
The growth occurred from July 2019 to August 2021, when the work was available.

The initial analysis
Every good SEO work always starts with a good analysis of keywords. This is to find synergies between data and the business. FITIT.dk was a completely new site in an industry with many large competitors. The strength of the site was comparatively not very strong, so trying to rank on, for example, “protein powder” as the first keyword would not be the smartest strategy. This is due to its simplicity, that there are some really strong sites that dominate the first page of Google (which is where you always want to go, since all the traffic is here). From this, we prepared an extended keyword analysis and found a long list of keywords with high volume and relatively low keyword difficulty (KD = an estimate of the competition for a keyword). At the same time, we found some keywords that were relevant to get traffic within diet and exercise. For example, we found the search term “balanced intake”, which had high volume and low competition. Below is data from FITIT.dk in the Ahrefs tool, where it can be seen that FITIT.dk is number 1 on the search “balance intake” as well as several longtail searches. On this keyword alone, FITIT.dk receives several thousand visitors for free and organically every month. A CTA has been implemented on the landing page, the purpose of which is to convert paying members. This is just one of many examples.
This case and
Content i denne case
It was important, as in all cases, to create content that actually delivers value to visitors. Not just to create SEO text for the sake of the text, but to actually deliver value. In the example above with “equilibrium intake”, there are not just 3-500 words written about equilibrium intake. A calculator and explanation of relevant longtail keywords (which we found in the initial analysis) have been implemented. The landing page delivers value, which is why it ranks high. At the same time, it is of course optimized with a focus on heading structure (H1 at the top, H2, H3 below), keyword density, SEO title, meta description, , internal links, outbound links, alt tags in the images, not too long confusing sentences or paragraphs, etc. Neither simply creating optimized SEO content nor simply delivering value must stand alone. It is a synergy between following Google’s algorithm both in terms of structure, but also content that really creates value. The latest updates from Google have particularly focused on pages delivering genuinely helpful content (helpful content) and living up to E-E-A-T (experience, expertise, authority, trust). We are experts in meeting Google’s requirements for good content, which is why we have also seen the extremely impressive growth in organic traffic for FITIT.dk as well as many other cases. However, content cannot stand alone. It requires a holistic approach. For example, link building is also super important in this case.
This case and
Linkbuilding
FITIT.dk was a completely new site. This means that its strength was zero. Of this, not only did good content have to be built if you wanted to be on the first page of Google, but backlinks also had to be built. There are three main types of link building. 1. Internal, where links are made internally on the site, 2. Outbound, where links are made to other sites, and 3. External, where other sites link to you. All three are important, but external link building was clearly the most important in this case, as FITIT.dk did not have a single backlink. The purpose of link building is to build authority and strength, so that you have better ranking opportunities. This is done by obtaining links from relevant and strong sites. A relevant site often gives little of itself (however, you can be creative in the content that is linked from). A strong site is a site that has a high domain rating (DR) and has organic traffic. It is important to mention here that DR is a concept invented by Ahrefs (SEO analysis tool), Google does not have anything in their algorithm that takes DR into account. Of these, you should not stare blindly at DR, but it can certainly be used as an indicator of a page’s strength. For example, FITIT.dk started with a DR of 0 and today has a DR of 27, cf. Ahrefs. Of these, FITIT.dk is, for example, a strong page due to its DR and organic traffic. FITIT.dk’s higher strength has come through an increase in backlinks from relevant and strong pages. Below is a graph that clearly shows this. The graph below shows the number of referring domains, which is another word for backlinks/the number of external links. The implemented link building strategy together with content and technical SEO (described below) resulted in the really nice growth seen in this case. This case and
Technical SEO
FITIT.dk was a completely new site, so no “mistakes” had been made yet. As a result, there was not the same need to clean up the site’s URL structure, general structure, orphan pages, broken links, speed, etc. In this case, it was more important to take the right steps from the start. From this, a simple and good structure for the site has been built. None of the important landing pages that need to rank are more than two clicks away from the front page. The URLs are simple and work with the keyword that is in focus for the specific page. At the same time, the site is built with a responsive design that works well on all platforms (mobile, tablet, desktop). Finally, there has obviously been a general focus on building the pages in a nice design without too many heavy elements (images, video, etc.), so that the speed of the page does not suffer from this.
